I cant find my car keys + remote but I have one spare valet key without the remote. If I open the car door and the alarm goes off, is there any way I can stop the alarm? Should I just wait it out, or will the ignition lock?

 

If you have the factory security system I believe once you open the door and alarm goes off, you can turn the ignition on and the alarm will stop. Or, I could be wrong....

 

Or, you could simply think like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.

Unlock the door with the key.

Open the door. When the alarm goes off:

1. Insert the key into the ignition.
2. Cycle the key from the off to the on position three times quickly, while chanting "I need to get home, I need to get home, I need to get home". If you don't chant, the alarm will continue to disable your car.

 

do this at least 3x "on, off" and that should do the trick. that's what it says in the manual. good luck.

 

Yeah, but the manual doesn't tell you about the chanting, right?? That's where the writers of the manual got it wrong...

If turning the ignition on doesn't work, have a wrench ready and pop the hood to disconnect your battery. That will definately kill it. Just make sure you are wearing a mask to make your neighbors wonder...

 

Or better yet, put on a ninja outfit then take off like a bat out of hell!!!!!!!!!!!

 

In other words, "you're f*cked, get a new remote."
