SUBARU Subwoofer/AMP Kit
Has anyone bought this option??? It's from Subaru, a Sub/AMP combo that mounts under the passanger seat. Approx. 200 bucks... clean looking unit.
Wondering if anyone has gone with this setup, All input is welcome... Oh, and yes, I know any aftermarket setup would be better... But this product could be good enough to satisfy my music needs... just wondering if theres enough bumpage to it... nothing window rattling, but a little vibration can be expected, no?
Anyone with any experience with this product let me know

Do'nt waste your money. It's the worst. At first I thought the radio sounded bad because the door speakers were so bad(5 1/4" in the front and 4" in the rear). I upgraded to Pioneer 6 1/2" 3way in all four doors and I keeped the factory tweeters. It sounded alot better. I noticed distortion. It was the factory sub. The door speakers were able to go deep with out distorting the the sub woofer. So I pulled the sub. I later added pre amp, sat. radio,a 4 x 100w amp for the front and mounted a sub in the floor of my wagon and added a 100w mono amp. Now it sounds great.

The sub/amp came with my 02 WRX wagon so I had no choice. I actually thought it was a decent setup. But after my headunit crapped out for the third time, taking 2 of my favorite CD's with it, I went full blown aftermarket. Of course it sounded 10x better, but it also cost 10x more.
I kept all of the aftermarket stuff and transferred it over to my 04 STi. But with my wife's LGT, I actually made a point to order the sub/amp to add to an already decent system (plus you can't go aftermarket very easily in the LGT due to the climate controls being integrated into the stereo
). I installed the sub/amp last night and I was very pleased with the results.
The bottom line is if you want some decent sound at a very decent price, the Subaru sub/amp is a good option. If you want to crank the thing up and enjoy your music, aftermarket is really the only way to go.
