Help with speaker install

so I have everything out, of the front door and Im about to put my new speakers in, (alpine type S two piece speakers) the tweeter I have connected directly to the cross over, same with the mid range

so Im looking at six wires,

two factory wires that went to the tweeter (I figure I wont use these, cause Im using the crossover)

four wires that went to the lower speaker (two red, and two white) which two (or more) do I put into the crossover as the input? thank you for your help.

the four wires going to your lower speaker are just the "woofer" and tweeter wires combined in parallel. basically two come from the head unit and the other two run to the tweeter.

you could eliminate the wires that go to the tweeter by cutting and testing which ones have power going through them with the head unit on and hooking them up to your speaker one at a time. once you have found them, you have your input wires. i forget the polarity and you can do a search to find out because i believe they are different colors inside the doors than from behind the head unit.

that is what i figured, so I tested, found two that seems to have power and hooked everything up, but for some reason I am missing some of the sound, wondering if I could do harm by just throwing all four wires into the input of the crossover (two each)
