help anyone know how to hook up oem Mclntosh 2 din in to a 04 wrx? i need to find out the pin lay out? please help. thanks

I Got The Pin Config By Talking To Technicians At Clarion And Got The Wiring Schematics From Them And Used A Old Calarion Din Cable To Get The Preouts As Well As The Turn On Lead To Hook Up My Amps. Clarion Is The Company That Actually Manufactures The Radio And Mac Is Responsible For Tuning Characteristics Of It As Well As The Badge On The Face.

 

thats a waste of of nice deck on a not so nice of a car... (in sound quality terms anyways).. unless you sounddamped the crap out of the car..

but as for the pin outs.. i'd say go to an electronic store and ger a harness.. the harness has the lables for each wires.. then after you use it you can return the harness.

 

The Mac Radio Has No Built In Power It Is A Pre Amp Out Only And The Adapter Harness Is Fine To Get The Power Acc. And So On. All Of The Audio Signal Is Sent Out Of A Din Cable To The Amps In The Back. This Radio Was Intended For Use In A L.l. Bean Outback With Amps And A Sub.

That Is For The Stock Harness Yes, But The Only Usefull Wires Are The Power Illumination And So On. The Mac Radio Will Not Run Speakers By Just Plugging It In. All Of The Rca Pre Outs Come From The Din Plug In The Back And Not The Molex. If This Were A Standard O2 Double Din Suby Radio Then You Could Just Plug In And Go But The Mac Radio Was Designed For A Special Purpose. You Can Purchase The Factory Amp Harness From Subaru For Some Cash. Or You Can Make Your Own Pigtail And Run Your Own Rca Leads And Turn-on Wire. The Diagram You Have Is Great For Hooking A Head Unit Up That Has A Built In Amp But The Mac Dosent.

We have one in our Outback VDC, I'm not sure what kind of results you are going to get as the deck was tuned to the OB specifically. It comes with a huge amp under the passenger seat and speakers specifically for the system. Also, there is even extra soundprofing in our OB when you get that system. look here
