I have a 2002 WRX Sedan with the factory alarm system. Today when shutting off my engine, the Red Security light in the dash started flashing intermittently. I tried arming the alarm, then disarming, but as soon as I disarm, the red flashing comes back. it flashes twice then stops, then twice again....repeatedly.
Has anyone else ever seen this? I'm hoping it's not something bad.
I'll be reading up on the owners manual later and was hoping for a quick answer here.

You somehow put it in valet mode by mistake. Open the drivers door and hold down the unlock button on your remote for a few seconds.
