i got my crappy skytec installed in concord. It works. The remote start works but there is no switch.. so if its in gear... it will start in gear. The install was hella jetto.

im not worried about it having a switch.. i dont ever leave my car in gear, so that would be fine... i was just worried about the wiring aspect of it, i dont want anything to go wrong in the long run, so if anybody knows of a reputable installer LMK...

what year is your wrx?

i believe 04 or later has neutral position wire. i installed my alarm on 05 sti plus ronald's (04/05 white wagon with green rims i think - he was one of the djs at the last BAM) with the neutral position wire and it works like a charm.

i say go with aftermarket and get it hooked up to the neutral position wire at the ecu.

as for good shops, custom car alarms in pleasant hill.

BTW most shops wont install on manuals, let them know about the neutral wire. You might want to search for ecu diagram to show them when they're installing.

Got an 05 WRX, how did the Python install work for you? I'm shopping around for an aftermarket alarm.
