Factory Alarm Problem

Hi,

I have an 02 WRX and am having problems with my factory alarm. The problems began about a year ago when I was driving for about 15 minutes and the alarm suddenly went off. After some time, it killed the engine. When the engine died I pressed the button on the remote and it beeped like it was unarmed. However a couple minutes later it happened again. I had to park and turn off the car in a safe place so that the engine wouldn't be killed in an unsafe place. I called the dealer and they had me do something with the remote that I think reset it. Anyways, that was the last I had of that issue until about a month ago.

Now, when I turn off the engine and arm the car, it randomly honks once, or twice, or completely goes off like someone set off the alarm. This all happens in my garage so I know no one touched it.

Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks

The factory alarm has a starter cutoff only and is not capable of killing the engine once it is running. Most aftermarket alarms won't do this either due to liability issues.
You may have something wrong other than the alarm.

A shock sensor that is either going bad or too sensitive? So you are hearing the warn away honk?
