I installed a Clifford AvantGuard 4. I would not recommend anyone installing this unit by themselves unless they have experience installing alarms.

you can bypass the alarm by not using it. only the remote activates the alarm or the doors locking. if you install keyless entry with ur new alarm then you can hold down lock and unlock at the same time on your subaru remote and it will disable the Beep coming from your horn.

I have the plug if you need it. I don't plan on removing the alarm myself

You'll be unpluging two harness plugs from two relays. on my Forester install one of the harnesses had a jumper and the other is just there, not plugged into anything. Not sure how the impreza was at first:

so after i unplug the harness, i use the jumper wires to connect pin 2 and pin 6 together to bypass the system? i dont need to buy a special harness do i?

peaty, the link shown is for a forester right? and the system on the wrx is next to the e brake not behind the glove box?

You are right the WRX one is located as per the PDF, I think there are pics of the WRX setup on our site too.

Here found it:

I don't see a jumper though is there one with the WRX? Anyone?
