Car will not arm(lock)/disarm(unlock)

So...I'm having trouble with my alarm.

Problem: My key fob is not arming(locking) or disarming(unlocking) my car.

First things first. My key fob has new batteries and is programmed for the car.

2ndL This seems to be an intermittent problem. It seems like there are times when I leave my car alone for quite a while and then it works again and other times where I would leave it and then all of a sudden I can't arm/disarm it! WTF?!

I checked both my key fobs and they both show a signal when i put it to the IR tester. I think my problem lies with the receiver in the car.

Has anyone ever had this problem before? If so, what'd u do to fix it?

Damn Miko, sorry to hear this, but i've also had this intermittent problem in all my cars i've owned. Just like you said, it's not all the time, but sometimes (usually at the worst times too) where the alarm won't turn on or off from the key fob. I think it's internal (receiver) if the key fobs/batteries work fine. Either check that yourself, have someone else diagnose it, or just get a whole new car alarm like Jarek said. Good luck, if you come out to the meet tonight you can talk to everyone out there about it!
