Can I fit 6.5" speakers in the front?

i'm sure it can be done...fabricate some spacers out of mdf to accomodate mounting depth. there's a vendor on nasioc who sells spacers; i've bought 2 sets from him before. if you don't want to do the work (making spacers), it's definitely worth it!

2.8" is going to be real close even with a 1" spacer. You may have to be ready to do some door panel modification (dremeling) with some additional spacers (1/8"). FAQ's on NASIOC have all the measurement information.

I have 6.5' ads separates in the front of my 03' wrx and from what I know they should fit just fine in the o4. Don't remember what spacer I used but I didn't have a problem putting them in. I also have 6.5' Boston Acoustics in the rear. Hope that helps.

I did 2.75" deep speakers with 3/4" spacers with no problems. It's tight but there's no rubbing anywhere.
