Please Help! Can these speakers fit?
Ok. I bought some Alpine Type R 6.5 components for the front and some Alpine Type R 5.25 for the rear. I bought the correct spacers from ia performance but when i tried to install them it seemed that there is no way that either speaker will fit. Am I doing something wrong or do these speakers just not fit. Is there any way to get these speakers in without any major modification?
Please Help soon because if not then I will have to return them.

The rear speakers will fit if you air grind the opening a bit. Not sure about the front ones. There are pictures of some guy putting 5.25 in his rear doors on this board. Just search a little deeper in the history of this category.
Can fit with the correct spacers I do some test before installation
and find at Pep Boys a cheaper spacers that fit well in the rear doors and installed the 5.25 Polk speakers.

speakers fit?
hey i ust had the polk seperates put im my front door and polks in the rear at circuit city. the installers said it was their first sti, they had to grind the rear door openings as suggested in earlier response and use spacers also the front were a little trouble but theygot it done. i had an alpine 50 wattper channel deck installed also .im not entirely thrilled with the outcome as far as sound and clarity goes !makes me wish i had my old jensen triaxles from the late 70s with a 25 watt per channel power booster hooked up to my cassette player. that really crankedalot better! maybe it was the bong hits though!! he he!i only spent about $560.00 on equipment and installat circuit city.would a amp help orare the speaker locations just not ideal for good sound?any info will be appreciated!!silverfox1
