Will these speakers fit?
I have a 2002 WRX wagon and in desperate need for speakers.
I went to a local car audio store, and listened to some demos and I was wondering if these would fit.
Fronts:
Polk Audio DB651
2-Way 6 1/2" Car Speakers
Rear
Polk Audio DB521
2-Way 5.25" Car Speakers
*I will not be using an amp to power these speakers, just the stock HU.
As for fitting the front speakers, I will be using these adapter plates from IAPerformance. http://www.iaperformance.com/product...oducts_id=1482
Would this set up work well? Any help, tips,or advice is welcome! Thanks!

Check the depth on the fronts, but otherwise, the adapters work great. I always ran 4" speakers in the rear (02 WRX, 04 STi) and they were more than enough for rear fill.
Even with the stock HU, I'd still run separates up front over 2-ways.

Does anybody know of any component speakers by Polk/MOMO that will let the tweeters fit in correctly?

Nevermind my previous post. Somone on Nasioc suggested the Polk DB6500, but I'm not sure if my stock HU will be enough to power them.
Should I run the db6500's w/ my stock HU?

Your stock HU only produces about 8W/channel so it may not be enough to properly drive aftermarket speakers. Also the chance of blowing them is actually higher with a lower-powered HU because if you crank it, it can go into distortion with resultant clipping and that's what blows speakers not power.

a better investment would be an aftermarket HU. alpines cda-9884 is awesome and cheap ($200) and the sound difference (even on stock speakers) is noticably crisper.
my $0.02

Yes they will work and thats a good setup. My roomate's gotta wagon and he slapped some polk DB6501 components in there and i believe for an 04-05 wagon, the rear is 4-inch, atleast in his car as well as mine, and we got 04's. Sounds pretty damn fresh though. You should buy a headunit man... you can get a good player for cheap. 139.99 Pioneer Dehp3000ib. Good cheap deck. you will hear a HUGE difference with the EQ that player has. thats just my opinion..
