My stereo will just go completely silent at times, and then if i hit a bump or even sometimes nothing at all it will just come back on. Seems like a wiring problem, but i'm not exactly sure. Has anyone else come across this problem, or have an idea of what it may exactly be?

 

Is it stock or after market my stock radio in my 2001 RS would do something similiar except it was the lights the harness where it plugged into the radio didn't fit real tight hope this helps could be a wiring problem...

 

If its stock bring it back to the dealer. If it's after market bring it back to the shop that installed it.

 

Yeah i just got two 6.5 pioneer 4-way speakers installed in the front and soon after that the problem occured so i took them back to where i got it installed, they took the doors off checked all the wiring and couldnt really find anything wrong. Since i've left it hasnt given me a problem and normally where when i went over a bump or made a quick turn it would blank out, it stayed on. So hopefully it stays this way.

 

Sounds like one of the wires was shorting out and when they pulled the door panel it corrected it.
