'06 Radio Antenna
So my radio reception was good with the factory head unit.
I put in a Kenwood HU, and now my radio reception is fairly crappy -- I can get most FM stations, but they go staticy in underpasses, and the scanning station recognition is very poor; also the AM reception is completely useless.
The Kenwood support line claims that the antenna type that is embedded in the window are such that the radio circuitry is specially tuned for it, and that I'll need to install a standard antenna.
That's lame. Anybody got any ideas on this?
jeff.

In case anyone cares here 'bout this: to my chagrin, the problem was due to my not connecting the "power antenna" wire in the harnesses.
The rear window-embedded antennae need power for their little signal amplifiers.....
(Kenwood support line told me I'd need to buy and install a standard external antenna, cuz "this is a problem with those antennas"....)
