05 wrx streo replacement

05 wrx streo replacement

the stock head unit looks kind of small, is there a special head unit i need to get? or does can i get whatever i want? it looks quite a bit smaller than my old accord. Any of you guys know?

You should be able to buy a kit to mount a regular (DIN) size headunit in there.

Check some websites like www.crutchfield.com

It'll most likely be one of the kits that has a small tray/nook for you to put stuff in because the stock HU is taller than DIN.

just popped a regular single din pioneer in my 05. works fine with standard din-mount.

Small? The stock unit is a double DIN size...exactly 2x larger than most car stereos...

no thats not what i mean i meant width wize i know its 2x taller but i'm talking about side to side

It's a standard double DIN ISO mount. You can fit two single DIN headunits in there with a little bezel trimming, and a single din fits just dandy with an adapter kit.

personally I like how double din fit though :P
