Replacement speakers for WRX?
Just bought a used '02 WRX wagon. I would like to put some really kicking speakers into the stock locations (MB Quart or Dynaudio) but found that the front door openings are weird. Infinity website says they are 5-1/4" by 2-1/8" deep, but Crutchfield says none of their 5-1/4 speakers fit, guy told me the opening is only 1-3/4" deep!
Any stereo loving WRX heads out there can help me out?

You can fit just about any 6.5 speakers in the front doors with a spacer. You can make your own or you can purchase one from a car audio shop.
Crutchfield has nice customer service but they're very expensive. www.ikesound.com has better prices.

yeah, other than the depth issue, any 6.5" speaker will fit. We have a funky 3 hole design, so you might need to drill the little metal brackets, but that's rare.
