where to install uppipe in L.A.?
I'll have to give them a call...but to be honest the testosterone is getting the better of me and the "call of the wild"...well ok maybe not the wild, but certainly "the call of getting out the tools and getting really really dirty doing unnecessary power upgrades" is getting the better of me.
I'd make some grunting noises, but I REALLY REALLY hate Tim Allen
of course now this is turning into a PROJECT...I figured as long as I'm taking all that stuff apart, I may as well do the uppipe, downpipe, tranny mounts, I may as well throw in a short shifter and some bushings....by the time I start, it might just be easier to get another car
oh yeah, I WAS looking at headers today....its like crack...you THINK you can just smoke it once....but HAH!!!

Thanks. Just give me a call, email or PM me on NASIOC (dynamispeed). We have a lift, that will make it much easier to install all of those parts. Definately get a downpipe. Its well worth it since you are removing the stock one anyway.

exactly why I'm getting it...and motor/tranny mounts too. Besides, if I get an uppipe and no downpipe, I can't use the Accessport stage 2 which has all the CEL fixes. No sense in instaling a CEL fix if its not really needed in the long run. I can wait a month or so without the uppipe burning a hole through the garage. I already bought the O2 sensor socket and a torque wrench
well time to revive this thread.
after being on the back burner for a very long time (due to unsympathetic girlfriend who has since gotten the boot) I'm finally getting stuff done. I contacted all the installers you guys suggested and the Speed Factory was the winner. The others either didn't get back to me or wanted even more money than the dealer for the install.
Speed Factory was very easy to deal with, easy communication, and everything done as promised quickly professionally and with no parts left over (well, except the original uppipe).
All the work was done by James (who said you guys would be jealous if I said that). What else can I say, after dealing with sub-par mechanics for years years I was very hesitant to have anyone other than the dealer working on my car, but it turned out very well. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definately be going back for more...in fact I've already bought almost everything for my stage 2.5.
I'm VERY glad I didn't attempt the install myself. After helping someone else do it on their own, and watching how much easier it was when the proper tools and a lift, it was definately worth the $150 to have it done while I got to shoot the **** with James.

second congrats on the up pipe and getting stuff done
third good job of getting rid of her
fourth they should have had two gaskets also left over
yeah gaskets are disposable, so I was wasn't counting those.
But I just bought a downpipe on ebay for $50...its a slip-end, so I'm going to get it cut down so I can put in a high flow cat and weld a flange on it. Should be headed back to the Speed factory in about 1.5 weeks
oh, anyone know a place in L.A. where I can get some ceramic powder heat coating? I REALLY don't want to pay ~$70 for shipping to AZ to have jet-hot do it and wait.
oh and on a side note I was out on a date tonight till like 4 am...and the girl thought my car sounded "hot" and she was really into that whole performance thing. WOOHOO!!!
