fin is referring to u-verse specifically not verizons service but i have talked to friends that have fios and its the same thing as far as issues go and yes if the install isnt done good u will have issues

fios offers u more cuz the fiber is run all the way to ur house
and ur a little less likely to encounter issues (pixalation/freezing). but even though they are both tv/internet service providers they dont really compete with each other b/c u can only get whats available in ur area so whoever is ur local telco provider is who u would be able to get.
fios takes alot longer to expand though b/c they have to rip up the streets to run fiber and they have to get the customers to agree to take care of the fiber terminal on their premise

problem running 3.5g is that they there's less coverage than 3g and when you're out of 3.5g range you go back to edge of course, think imma revert to 3g for most of the usage. i wish they could revert to 3g if out of 3.5g range but there hasn't been a fix for that yet.
