check these prices out... and this was taken over a month ago in San Francisco, no "full service" or nothing. i dont know about So-Cal, but up there are only a hand full of stations that offer "full service."

Angry

That's crazy for self-serve!!!!

We are *****ing for $2.41 for 91 here in LA.. (that's the cheapest Exxon I think)
my drive from LA to Northern Arizona is going to really suck with the $300 I'll wind up paying...

Blood thirsty Oil companies both here and abroad...

Of course our gov't politicians are in the pockets of Big Oil and from the President on down, so nothing will be done...

I'd run grain 100 Proof alcohol if i'd work and not f/u the motor which it prob. would with the heat variable...

If you think $3 gas is expensive go to Japan or the EU LOL! Hydrogen is your baby? Wait till that comes (it won't). It's totally unpractical at this point for transportantion. There are no hydrogen wells, mines or trees. You have to make it with electricity (We don't have any electrical surplus to even think about making a dent in transportation use) Think hydrogen? Think of a battery, you have to put it in before you take it out. Yes it burns clean except at the plant that makes the electricity to make the hydrogen. Good article in Scientific American a monthy or two back on hydrogen use. Seems the only real practical place would be for home use in a small expensive plant that would use solar to generate same for water and home heating use.

Next time you order a cheap $30 a gallon beer ($3 12oz glass) at your fav pub visualize pushing your Suby 20 miles by hand on flat ground or paying $2.50 or so, and nobody tips the gas station guy. You could save $$ on the gym though.

There is no free lunch.

Cool

Thanks for the update....

Looks like Hybrids are the only popular and practical alternative....

They are selling em as fast as they can build em... as well as hybrid SUV's..
too bad they only make up 1% of sales for now..

All those boneheads who followed the SUV craze (and think their safer, and 99% never take them off-road or for work) are now thinking maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all... sales have fallen through the floor.. thank God!

Thanks to Senor Bush putting them into the truck category to escape normal smog reg's like the rest of us...

Glad their paying $50 plus to fill up!!!!!!

big POS's...

I think the SUV (read bus) was in the truck catagory long before GW came on the scene. GW's only been there for 3 1/2 years. Don't expect the gov't to be proactive. Higher gas prices will dictate wisdom to the buying public unfortunatly, or fortunatly. Too bad we can't have real conservation and cheap gas.
