Gas hits $2.79 for premium, time to revolt
I am new and this is like my 3rd post, but I saw this today and happend to have my camera with me so I had to share it with you all. This is only 4 blocks away from a station selling it for $2.49, which is the best I have found in my area, so if you pay that price you are a moron, but still it is outrageous that you can charge that much for a gallon of crappy 91octane gas. By the way how many of you are going to the Rim of the World Rally this weekend? I got my discount coupon ready, and I am sending my wife to her mom's for the weekend.

How much is Race gas? Who do you know that sells it here in the 323 area. I live around the grove & beverly center? I found a place in santa monica that supposedly sells it, but I have been too lazy to go over that way since my school is all the other way. I have been thinking of putting 100-octane in with my regular 91 octane ****. Is anyone else doing this? Does the ECU wake up with 95-96 octane in the tank?
EDIT: Although the chart shows 92 octane, I would just add another gallon of 100 to put me over the top.

the ECU does notice this right away though the full benefits make take a tank or two. I have found the majority of the increased performance is immediate.
Two places in santa monica and one in the valley and another in agoura.
$4.50-$550 depending on where you go.

Thanks, I will try to get to one of the places in Santa Monica. I get my student loan check on wed. so after I buy my turbo back exhaust and accessport then I will definitely need some 100 octane so I can run on the higher octane maps every once in a while.
Thanks.

Beer is about $40 a gallon at a bar, Evian is about $8 a gallon. Gas in the EU is aroud $5 and has been for years. Check your State sales tax, Fed taxes, and special state fuel formulas etc. In Montecito (Sta Barbara) last week, a Union had full service premium at $2.99 per.

On my trip back to Berkeley after Rim Sunday-
Bridgeport CA, on highway 395 between Lee Vining and Reno, only two gas stations.
premium, 91 octane at both stations, self-serve.....
$3.199 per gallon.
in the immortal words of Eric Cartman, "screw you guys, I'm going home"
I refused to pay that much, even just to grab a half tank before going over the pass, but I expect we'll see it here in civilization in a matter of weeks

Is Exxon/Mobil decent quality gas?
I wonder if 76 gas with Ethonal attitive is good the our turbo's? They phases out MTBE a while ago...
Exxon on Lincoln in Santa Moncia, has 92 for about $1.40 a gallon...
The Trick gas available at Canyon Gas on West Channel before you hit PCH has been there forever, and sells many grades and octanes..
All the high end Ferrari's and 911's go there since $5/Gal is nothing if you have a 130-250K car!!! hehe

Rumor is that this station is moving toward shutting down.
