Question Wheel Techniques?

I just got a used set of STI BBS and one of em has major rashage and is slightly bent. I was thinking about taking it to Wheel Techniques, anyone have experience with these guys or know of somewhere better?
Thanks.

no experience w/ them but i have sworn by Wheels America for over 10+ years!
$129 for ANY wheel not chrome (chrome is $250+) single piece, multi-piece, one small dent, or multiple dents/cracks/crunches it just doesn't matter.

they'll refinish it identical to the original and guarantee their repair for life.
their replication of factory machined face wheels (not that yours are) is outstanding--spot on to OE!

they have facilities in SF/Bay, LA and others across the country.
nothing but praises from anyone i've ever referred to them over the years.

If wheel techniques is the place off of El Camino, by 80, then they are very good. We had a wheel on the mercedes repaired there and they did a great job, and were quick.

i've had bad experiences with wheel techniques.

Long story short, i brought my 1 bent SSR comp wheel to them to repair. They said turn around time is 3-4 days no problem, paint matching was no problem, and they can definitely have the rim looking brand spanking new like as if it just got shipped over from japan. So I called them at the end of the 4th day, and they said it's not done yet and instructed me to call back tomorrow, did that, and they said the paint's not done drying yet, try monday as it was already saturday. Monday comes along, and i gave them a ring again, and they tell me it's ready, so i went into the shop to pick up my wheels. the color on it was COMPLETELY whack. No where near the original paint color of my ssr comp anthracite with polish lip. So they said they'll get it right this time around, but would need me to drop off one of my wheels at home to them so they can color match it to that. I did that the following business day, and they said they'll call me when it's done. 3 days go by, and still no call, so i give them a call during their business hours and by then they already know i'm the guy with the ssr wheel. They inform me that they're in the process of getting the wheel color matched, sending it out to some paint dealer or somethin for computer matching and give them some time. I said alright well, let me konw when i should expect my wheels to be done. He said call back next week, and so i left it at that until the following week. Gave wheel techniques a call, and the same guy picks up and he's literally out of excuses. Finally tells me that they can't color match the wheels and i'm PISSED. I ended up playing getting the run around for 5 weeks while my car was out of commission since i have BBK and i wasn't able to get ahold of another set of wheels, paying additional money to get all FOUR of my wheels resprayed a completely diff color, just so i can have a set of 4 matchiing SSR comps.

Wheel techniques SUCK.

Just last week, my friend has a set of ssr comps and one needed to be repaired. They claimed/promised it will be the same color if they repair it. Surely enough, it was the same color, as they only repaired the lip where the bend was. But that's only because they never even touched the paint. With that said, they chipped the paint off the spokes of the wheel in several places during the repair process, and also grinded the **** out of the inside wheel lip during the repair process. DEFINITELY DO NOT bring your wheels to wheel techniques.

Wow, that sucks, I had a pretty good experience. I bought some BBS's from another member and they had been pretty thrashed. I knew two of them were bent but the other two looked ok. So i took all four in because i was planing on getting them painted black. The day after i brought them in, i had a change of heart and decided to have them painted the normal silver. i get a call a couple days later and they told me that the two rims that I thought were ok were actually bent also. I thought, great, now they're gonna charge me to fix those too, but they said that they'd fix em for the same price I was quoted for fixing the other two. Ended up getting them all fixed up and painted for like 400 bucks. So now I have virtually brand new BBS's. the only thing is that I think the color silver that they painted them is a little lighter and brighter than the stock color. But I kinda like it better, makes my car look great and i bet the brightness will fade a little over time. Overall i was happy with my experience there, but i can see how it looks like they have trouble getting colors right.

That sounds like they painted two, saw they didn't match, and went into damage control; I'm willing to bet the other two weren't bent, but at least they gave you a matching solution for the price they originally quoted.
