Post What is the fine for running a stop sign?

I just got pulled over for running a stop sign and I was wondering how much is the ticket for this violation? Is it the same as running a red traffic light? Any help would be appreciated.

There was one good thing out of this. This officer asked me if my exhaust was stock or if it was aftermarket. (its an HKS Hi Power Exhaust) I told him that I bought it, but I put the silencer in to comply with the DB noise level. He just walked away and issued the stop sign violation.

The one time I got pulled over for it, the cop asked me a question. He said, "If I was beating you with my baton, and you asked me to stop, would you want me to stop, or just slow down?"

I of course said, "Stop."

He then replied, "Well, remember that the next time you come to a Stop sign."

should be the same as a red light violation.

^^which is up to like $375 i think. a lot of times it depends on what intersection you run through. it's also like 3 points on your record i think.

haha definitely not 3 points on the record. I got a red light violation once and all i got was traffic school and then I got the judge to drop it to a $100 fine instead of $375

traffic school keeps the points off your driving record though, that's the only reason most people ever do that.

Traffic school is a bargain. Keeps it off your record and the insurance company will never know about it.

Friggin stop sign was posted on a damn wooden horse, and it was non-reflective in a non lighted area.....

You might be able to fight this one. Find out whether or not the sign must conform to a government standard of some sort. Check the CVC book, or go online here, find the section you need, print it, and take it with you to court.

Oh yeah, go back and take pictures of the "sign". I'm sure the judge will get a kick out of it! :rotfl:
