I could almost put money on the bet that a lot of those people were working for financial institutions that either went under or reduced their workforce.

MacBook Air doesn't have a user-replaceable battery
On another subject...
Macbook Air Depth = 0.16-0.76 inch (0.4-1.94 cm)
iPhone Depth = 0.46 inch (11.6 mm)
Is an iPhone size decrease next?

The less debt you have the easier it is for you to qualify on the debt-to-income ratio. In order to get a decent rate with most banks you'll want to try to qualify for 38%-45% or less on this ratio. (Meaning your monthly payments on the debt that shows up on your credit report + proposed house payment, property tax and homeowners insurance all added together needs to be less than 38%-45% of your overall monthly income). This ratio is one of the biggest reasons I've had to turn down loans where I work...... most people range between 50-65%). You may meet that requirement with no problem, however as previously stated, paying the car off early could also positively affect your credit score and would show on your credit report in a month or two.

debt isn't necessarily a bad thing. abusing it, or taking out more than you can afford is.
if you really want to help your score, get a Visa, an MC, and an AMEX card. charge your day to day purchases on them (gas, food, etc...) and be sure to PAY THEM OFF at the end of each month. if you do that, there is no finance charge and the ability to get and maintain the major credit cards will help with your #.
remember, your credit score is not an indication of how you've managed to avoid credit or how little you have, it's an indication of how responsible you've been with it. example: a $2000 card with a $1000 balance will actually hurt you more than a $10,000 card with a $1000 balance as on paper you've used 50% of your available credit. ultimately it's a balancing act. too little will hurt, too much will hurt. just be responsible with what you've got and you really can't go wrong.
as for "short credit history", that sticks around for a long time. i've had good credit since I was 18, now at 30 I still get that on my reports.
edit: i've noticed a similar trend with check approval systems. i personally never write checks. the one time I tried to make a reasonably large purchase with one, the check got declined by whatever automated system the store was using. upon digging into this, i have almost no history of writing checks and that's the reason for being declined, regardless of the fact that i've never written a bad one.

I was just reading an article on sacbee.com about the new levee designations for Natomas.

Wow.... So I parrell parked, and some ****ing **** sucker parked like 2 inches from my back bumper(and he had like 8 feet behind him). I'm like great this is going to be fun... I then realized the dude was still in his car, doing paper work. I was like well maybe if I get in my car and put it in reverse he will realize that I don't exactly have any room to get out thanks to his *** guzzling ***ot ***. So I start my 80 point turn to get out and he still hasn't moved. he just sat there and watched me. So once I got out I decided it would be a great idea to roll down the window, flip him off and call him a ****ing ***ot, and point out the fact he had tons of room behind him. He just acted like he didn't hear me...

I was ****ing heatedShoulda got out & politely asked him to back up a skosh.
Failing that, a slight "thank you" tap is perfectly acceptable.
