nice to see that this was resolved in a good manner all under control and discreetly...

If someone was screaming at me in front of my house and I didn't want to bother the neighbors I would just walk back inside. It's a nice touch to turn off all of the lights too.

No excuse, no "I'm sorry I left the dog and ruined your weekend."

Just, "I've done so much for your in the past. It shouldn't matter if I ask or not because we're family. You could have just left him in the kennel all weekend. Nothing was stopping you from leaving."

She didn't understand the distinction between us ASKING her to take care of our dog, and her just dumping her dog on us, turning off her cell, and then lying to us all weekend until she decided that she felt like picking up her dog.

No explaination as to why she kept leaving messages that said she was on her way when she really had no intention of leaving. No apology for making us wait around for her all day because we thought she was "on her way."

The worst part is, I'm 99% sure that her parents are going to take the sister's side. They already hate me and I'm worried that this is going to screw things up between my wife and her family. I just don't want things to be screwed up between my daughter and my wife's side of the family.

**** it, if they are so stubborn to know that they did something wrong, and that they were putting un-necessary burden on you, screw them. Keep your door closed and don't welcome them anymore. If she wants to bring up family blah blah blah, then family don't bring un-necessary **** like that around. Damn I don't know how you kept your cool, if it was me, oh boy, all hell would break loose.

She sounds like a whackjob...I would just avoid her as much as possible. If her parents are taking her side then they are as much of a whackjob as her. Hopefully your wife didn't inherit the whackjob genes!

Thank you, Mike, that is a great idea. To be honest, if this was just a friend, they would have been cut out of my life ages ago...

But this is my wife's family, and I cannot ask my wife to cut the ties with them no matter how ****ty they are to us, and I don't want to deprive my daughter from knowing them. I would not want my wife to cut ties with MY family even if they did something really ****ty.

I guess it's just really hard for me to relate to this whole situation. My family is great and never yells. When we go to visit my parents, it's all, "oh, glad you're here, what can we get for you, what would you like to do today?"

When we visit them, it's like, "what are you going to do for us today?" No matter what we do it's not doing enough "for the family".

Unfortunately, he is an awesome dog and he would have just sat at the front door. I contemplated taking him into the foothills and dumping him, but he would have found his way back and would have been sitting at the front door. :rotfl:

Goto the Bay Area. Put the dog in the back yard but leave the gate open if you catch my drift.

Then take him to Vietnamese neighborhoods that surround the Freeport/Meadowview area. He'll be stir-fry in no time
