Angry So tell me if I'm wrong here...

So once again the wife's family ALL show up at our house yesterday for an impromptu "we're having a get-together at your house" thing.

fine.

Her brother and his wife, and her sister and her boyfriend all spend the night.

fine.

Now her brother and his wife went home this morning.

yay.

And her sister and her boyfriend went to Ione to help her parents.

fine.

Well... the sister left her dog here...

And we were supposed to go to the Bay Area to help move my grandma into an alzheimers clinic tomorrow...

And she knew that...

And I cannot trust her dog in my house or my yard without supervision due to past (expensive) incidents.

And she didn't bother to tell us that she was not coming back tonight...

And she is not answering her phone.

So we are babysitting her dog.

...

Now I don't mind babysitting the dog. I love this dog. This is an awesome dog...

But it would have been nice to know that we were supposed to babysit instead of just dumping the ****ing dog here and turning off your phone...

Well, it turns out that we did not need to go to the Bay Area tomorrow to move my grandma...

And so my wife doesn't think there is a problem...

But that is beside the ****ing point. It is ****ing rude to assume that we would watch the ****ing dog all ****ing weekend without ****ing ASKING first...

And instead of backing me up on this... my wife decided to lecture me about why I should not say f0ck in front of the baby...

...

****.

Am I wrong here?

sounds like crap to me.
Let the wife watch the dog. You go do something fun. Or tie the dog to something in the yard to minimize the possible damage.

Did anyone even let you know they were coming over, let alone spending the night??? Why didn't they just take the dog with them? Sounds like pretty irresponsible relatives to me...

I would just let them know that in the future if they want you to watch their dog, then make sure they ask you BEFORE coming over with it.

You did nothing wrong.

The person was wrong for dumping the dog on you like that.
The family was wrong for dropping in unannounced; one person/couple is ok, but the anything larger requires planning, which you obviously weren't included in on.

When did you & Mrs Ryball know that people were coming over?

The biggest problem is that it Mrs Ryball did not back you.
Short of murder, husbands & wives back each other.

If you are going to cuss around a child, I find it best to do so when they are too young to understand what you are saying.

Does Mrs Ryball know about the Grandmother move? What does she think about that, or is it that she doesn't the think dog crapping and breaking **** in your house is that big a deal?

Angry

So it gets worse if you can believe it.

At least now the wife is backing me. She is probably more pissed than I am.

So, after we call her dad at 10pm, we get a call at 11pm last night. It's her sister.

sister: "um... I'm on my way."

me: "Were you going to ****ing tell me I was going to watch you ****ing dog all day?"

sister: "um..."

me: "Were you actually planning on coming back tonight, or were you just planning on leaving the ****ing dog here and hoping we wouldn't notice?"

sister: "I was planning on coming back..."

me: "is that why you took all your bags?"

sister: "um..."

me: "were you planning on calling, or did dad call you and tell you to call us?"

sister: "um... do you think I can pick the dog up tomorrow morning?"

me: *furiously biting lip*"9am sharp"

sister: "9am sharp"

So I leave the dog in the kennel and we leave at 8am to get things done. We get a message at 11:45am...

sister: "I'm on my way."

We get back to the house around 3pm. Guess what? The dog is still there... no sister.

We called the dad.

dad: "she left 45 minutes ago she should be there soon"

4pm... no sister.

5pm... no sister.

6pm... no sister.

We call the mom.

mom: "What's the problem?"

us: "no sister. ****ed weekend... sister called at 11:45am said she was on her way. B.S. Called dad he said she left at 2:30ish. B.S. WTF gives?"

Mom procedes to turn it around and get mad at us which is usually how things go when we get mad at them.

us: "let us talk to sister."

mom: *click*

dial tone...

WTFing hell.

It's 9pm... no sister. I'm gonna ****ing shoot someone.
