Yeah. I am running around looking for quotes/estimates. I know.... I know... Maddhatteroo will probably say for the fifth time... I'd stick with LIC. Haha. I think I saw on FineLine Imports that they have an already assembled wiring harness. Anyways...
I am pretty much looking for any EJ20 turbo, conversion, and tranny change from A/T to M/T. I don't really care if it is smog legal or not. I'll take my chances and yeah...

just whatever place you go to source parts from...make sure the engine has a good compression rating on it and its not a weak motor

oh and you WILL care about smog when the time comes...its getting harder and harder to find shady smoggers that will pass u for a few more bucks

I just got an estimate from LIC and yeah...
I think it would be better if I just bought a used WRX or something. I don't know really. I kind of like my white suby. I am still waiting on estimates from other people. Unless I decide to do the swap myself, I think that the swap will be relatively expensive compared to buying a used car.

yah...lic charges way the **** too much. 9k for a wrx swap...
. theres always garagetuning who will do the swap with HD clutch for $5400....if you want to spend the money for it. your car is worth about 5-6k depending on mileage and some other stuff. so combine the cost of the swap and the value of the car you have around $11,500, or what you can get a used 2002 wrx for. so that comes down to which car you like more. the wrx will have a better interior and it will be newer, but i think they are ugly and overweight. the gc is a rare(ish) car. a swapped gc is very rare, especially around here. the gc is also pretty
.
i think the smartest option for you is to sell your car, but buy a 93-95 impreza L (make sure its awd!!!1) and buy an ej20g front clip and get that swapped. the 93-95 imprezas are odb1 and can be smog legal with an ej20g swap. selling your car will get you 5-6k, buying an older impreza will cost 2-3k. if you want i can find you a full ej20g front clip for ~$2k. so you now have a car that runs, and a v2 wrx front clip, AND you have $0-1000 extra money. then you just have to get it swapped. LIC doesnt deal with odb1 swaps for whatever reason. you can go to GT, moose MAY do it for you but doubtful, im not sure if fine line imports will do it or not...they are in santa rosa, maybe give them a call.

Yeah. That makes a lot a sense. I kind of want to keep my body though. For sentimental reasons. Who knows, I might hand it down to my bro or something. Yeah, the estimate was about 14,500. Yeah... I totally love the GC body. I think it looks more sleek than the WRX.
14,500 for engine swap, tranny swap, and rear wrx brake change
