Yeah. I have an Impreza L. For some reason, insurance on mine is a b****. I think it was because my measly 137hp, stock Impreza L is classified as a sports car or something. Kind of ridiculuous!!

I was wondering if someone can give me some advice.
I was looking at this thing:
https://www.i-club.com/forums/used-aftermarket-car-parts-sale-99/93-01-impreza-parts-132986/
And I was thinking about picking up the strut braces, the underdrive pulley, and the Borla headers. I have no idea how to install the last two and was wondering if someone could give me a hand. The other thing is if this was a good way to go. I don't know the effectiveness of this direction. The other thing was if the items were priced okay.
Thanks.

Yeah. I pretty much decided that I will go with LIC for the conversion. I figure that if I am going to pay a chunk for a conversion, I might as well pay a little more and get it done really nice with the smog legality.

the borlas are a *decent* peice. a lot of them are prone to cracking. they sound ****ing wicked when combined with a catback.
the strut brace is meh. doesnt do a whole lot, although for $25 i would def go for it.
the underdrive pulley is meh as well...but its $20...that one is underdriven so you will be getting less power to your electrical components as well.
remember that modding your n/a car is pretty much a waste especially if you want to swap later down the road. that money is better spent on either suspension upgrades or towards the swap. exhaust is ok because it sounds cool
for some cheap upgrades i would check out:
-a 20mm rear sway bar (~$80 new) assuming you havent gotten this already
-some cheap fender braces, i have the turn in concepts ones and they are pretty nice.
-anti lift kit from whiteline. i dont have one of these but i hear from tons of reliable sources that they are great.
-maybe make your own intake. i did this and all it did was make noise. no power gained. ****, even the $300 cobb peice added 2hp to the wheels (dyno proven in fact)
-springs/struts if you dont have them already. tons of options here...
-tires if you dont have a good set already. tires are KEY.
i could talk for days about what to do to these things...

Yeah, about the strut braces. I don't drive fast enough for them to make a difference. It is purely decorative though. Tires were just changed in August. I would do the whole thing, but my parents footed the bill. Thanks all.

Hey maddhatteroo,
Yeah. I kind of got the idea that you really favor LIC. I am just doing some shopping here and there. I am just looking for the shop that caters best to my budget. If I can save here and there, it'd be beneficial. I am looking at and engine swap as well as the tranny swap, so... it'll be expensive.
