Need help! got a nail in rear tire :-(

Actually got two nails in both rear tires. Maita Subaru was able to patch one of them, but the other tire has the nail too close to the sidewall to patch, so I am screwed :-( What do you guys recommend I do now? I don't really want to buy a new Dunlop tire since I wanted to get something like a conti DWS tire (all season), but I know I can't mix and match thread and tire types. Does anyone have a used Dunlop that they want to sell? Or know where I could find one?

the beauty of awd.

just get another tire if your other ones still have a lot of life on them. if you are getting low in the tread dept, just get four new ones. just my thoughts.

What is the tread life on your tires? I might have one that about 7-8/32 tread life that I can sell if you really need it. Only issue is im all the way in san jose.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. After running around all day I ended up going to Radial Tire Service on cottage way. They were the only shop that could patch my tire, and it's running like new! I drove to tahoe yesterday and let's just say it was "spirited" and everything felt great. +1 million to radial tire, they earned a customer.

You should never post again.

All 4 tires need to be the same make, model, size, and within 2/32" of wear. You cannot mix and match. Some models, even by the same manufacturer, vary more than the Subaru's stated tolerances fresh out of the factory.
