I Need A New Battery - Any Recommendations?

Well, it looks like my stock battery has finally started showing signs of failing on me in my '02 WRX. Do you guys have any recommendations on which battery I should replace it with?

Do all stores give a credit based on the life of your old battery, or is it only Wallyworld that does that?

optima is prolly the most readily available...
but there are also a few that are better/cheaper/lighter....
Odyssey is one.

Hawker is another

and Dyna-Batt is the cheapest, but they're direct form the manf and the identical battery as odyssey & hawker...but harder to find locally.

look to pay around $100.
will save some weight and space in the engine bay...

but if oyu run a ton of stereo A/V equiptment, you may want to stick with a larger Optima style battery.

if you're just looking to get a "standard" replacement battery Interstate is the only way to go.

My car is bone stock, so I'm probably looking for just a standard battery that'll last me a long time but still cost effective.

I have an Optima Red also, so far so good. I got the rotated terminal version so it did not have such a tight fit. That version of the battery was also 5 bucks cheaper. The battery place installed it for free also. I bought it in the middle of the day and wasn't doing anything so I had them drop it in for me.

Optima Red is the best way to go. There easy to come by at about any Autozone or comparable auto parts store.
