Nobody here is a programmer and wants to even think about an app that requires us to write even one line of code or enter a command prompt. We need a piece of software that says "What do I back up? This drive? Okay. When? Okay."

And that's it. I don't care how long it takes as long as when I come in on monday I have 2 sets of company data that are not on borked drives.
then your best bet would be to use ms backup.

It's in the system tools folder under the accessories folder.

have fun!

There are external drives out there that have a button on them. You press the button, it backs up the data on the computer.

You need to sprinkle some dust in it.

I'm getting paranoid about my datums, and want something apart from my system. Also, if its external, I could theoretically use it to back up my laptop too.

I dunno, but I think you'd have to install something on the host PC and then point it to a directory (or set of directories). But, from that point on, it should be a one button thing.

The reason I use a 300 GB external is so if I'm home and there's ever a fire I can just grab it and run. I also make a DVD backup every 6 months or so and keep it at work.

During this meeting, I get a phone call/voicemail. It's from another, very large and in fact global engineering/infrastructure firm that I applied to in december. First time I've heard back, never even got a confirmation of my application. There's a strong possibility that I would get a chance to work overseas if I was to hire on. But, then there's the flipside of being a coporate ***** with no real input on how things work in exchange for the (presumably) better pay and benefits.

But here's the real kicker- the ****ers called me 4 times this morning between 6:15 and 6:45. wtfm8? I'm leaning a lot more towards telling them to **** off for being so rude than I am towards being flattered that they are working so hard to contact me, but I wondered what you yokels thought about it.
Here's a good question for you.

well what do you want to do?

1. Work for a company that lets you make critial decisions that help progess the company. (which would look pimp on your resume when it comes time to move on)

or

2. Get put in a box and told to color within the lines.

You're pretty young. I wouldn't get put in a box. Not yet at least. You'll just bore yourself.

Also remember this, when the axe comes around, who do you think will get axed. Mr. Input I have made the company better by my decisions? or mr. robot.
