Here's the specs Ryball,
Everbrite Lighting Technologies Medlux XLS Advanced MRI Lighting System.
They are made of non-ferrous metal.

Also if your looking to save energy you could install some of these bad boys.

They are skylights that are built to look like regular fixtures. Some models even offer the capability having their own light source for night use.

All this lighting reminds me of another sweet light product.
The Sky Factory, which specializes in creating daylight in environments that don't recieve any. It's a really good application for medical facilitys, but people are using them in residential as well. They have units with LED ballasts as well as fluorescent, and both are dimmable and programmable to respond like daylight including visual color warmth adjustments (dawn-dusk).

Recycle it. Same way they got the mercury for the CFLs in the first place most likely.

I can't use a CFL for my porch light because it's a recessed can with a sealed cover. What do I do then?

Once it's burned out and you can't replace it, have an accident on your porch in the dark and sue the state because they are liable for creatign a safety hazard on your porch.

I think that you'd need to buy a new fixture for that purpose, unless you could get inside your fixture.

Democrats don't think that far ahead....

Sorta like when they started adding(forget the name of the additive) in our fuel, because it burns cleaner, but they didn't think about how the gas had a possibility of getting into our water systems, and now our water is laced with whatever additive it was

If it's a sealed unit then the whole thing would have to removed and replaced. I believe that is what we are going to have to do with the MRI fixtures.

The GE FAQ site says you can't use CFLs in recessed enclosures with covers because the heat is too much. The cover comes off just fine so I can change the bulb.

That's a real ****ty example, since nobody else knew MTBE was going to be a water pollutant. It's not like Republicans were up in arms about the additive because it would turn out to be a pollutant. They just *****ed about how much it cost to put in.

But I thought that CFL's produced less heat than traditional incandescents....
irony.

I know no one knew that it was going to become a water pollutant, but if you have to produce more items with mercury in them, don't you think there is going to be more mercury around, therefore higher risk for it to get into our water

Again... I just think this is another bull**** cop out, We have the technology to make our energy natural things(wind, rivers/creeks/dams, sun)

I just hate how people constantly try to do bull**** temporary fixes that in the giant scheme of things aren't doing ****, yet since everyone is so damn money hungry they won't spend the money on making everything a better place as a whole, but instead do things to get more money in their pockets
