Now, back to my previous post. You can't run the OTS maps with that part. The SPT Powerpack even came with a reflash to account for this intake.

First off don't believe 5w-30 mobile1 was the culprit. I know there's tons of debate on this. No previous problems with mobile1 oil sustain that accusation. Like he said. He spun it too high. The spt does need a retune, again me and Jeff have looked at his numbers and nothing popped out at us.
Jeff just let me know what the plan is and ill be there with some beer!

I pulled the valve cover this evening and didnt see anything that looked too out of the ordinary. I did however see very fine metal shavings, and not much of them. I was gonna do a compression test but ran out of time. I should be working on it a little more tomorrow after i get it towed to my friends house. Motor may be out by tomorrow night with any luck. Like I said i heard a lot of valvetrain noise from the stethescope, so i'm hoping i didnt skip timing.
thanks for all the advice and help everyone.

So we took off the timing cover and this is what we found... and unfortunately i was right, it skipped timing. The belt also cracked the timing cover where it skipped on the side of the exhaust cam gear. So we re timed it and then put back together(well most of it) to get it started and running again.... and the noise is still there. We also did a compression test, and i had 130psi compression in every cylinder, so thats a little odd. On sunday we're going to do a leak down test and see exactly where its coming from and then pull the motor and tear it down.
not sure why the pic is sideways but the pulley on the right is the lower (exhaust) cam
