blown motor :(((

So last night I did a launch and immediately afterward my motor started making some terrible noises. after running for a few more short minutes it developed a knock. ****! im gonna drop the oil pan today but it sounds like i'll be putting a new short block in it. Anyone have any GOOD used ej255 shortblocks? I'm on a pretty limited budget and am trying to do this as cheap as possible.. any input would be nice.
until i fix it i'll be taking the lightrail through out sac... not fun

sorry to hear, but you gotta pay to play...

Without an accurate diagnosis, are you sure you need a shortblock?

Well I'm gonna hopefully have time to pull the oil pan off today at work. So If all goes planned I should know by the end of the day. I'm hoping that I might have just spun a bearing, but it sounds pretty gnarly.... I'll keep updating this post as I'll have plenty of time on the lightrail/bus system.

I'm honestly starting to think best case spun bearing but doubtful. Ican get a new short block from Subie for $1700. Oil level was full, I just spun it up too high - driver error. I'm looking for a stock shortblock, no aftermarket. Thanks for the support guys, this is a pretty big hit to me so just tryin to see what I can do.

Ya, I suggest researching oils before you start using them next time. We've known for ages that turbo cars and Mobil 1 synthetic (specifically 5w30) simply don't work together.
