If these are competitive (price-wise) to the R-S2, I am interested in a set of 235/45/17.

It's hard to gauge interest when we're dealing with unknown pricing. I'm taking a rough guess at pricing based on commercially available competition, but if you could give us a ballpark figure, and how many sets of tires you would need to have buyers for to reach a certain price point, it might help convince some folks.

If they're cheap enough, I'd consider two sets...

We should also consider re-naming the thread and / or listing it in a "group buy" forum...

can we list this in the GB forum? Please let me know what and how to do that. Thank you.
The price will be released next week.

Back on the first page of the thread, Federal Tire posted the above...those are the only two sizes on the table at the moment.

Also- I cross-linked the two threads, so people looking on Group Buys will (hopefully) be able to find us.

+1

(i must add this note because otherwise it says "The message you have entered is too short" so, now it isn't)

EDIT: thinking about it, i'm currently running 225s, but they rub a lil, thats why I'd figure I'd go 215s, but that i guess depends on the physical dimensions too - the page isn't working for me, so does anyone know the tires physical width?

No gc love...

And chance of 225/50/16s.. hell, any 16s? Us RS guys like em....

I run st-s, and was considering the above size. Max for that class is 225, so kumho MXs are the dealio. I daily drive my summer auto-x tires till late october or november, then switch on the all seasons (which do x2 duty as rallyX tires).

I know, I'm a minority- no wrx/sti and daily driving race tires. Just weighing in....

I don't think you're a minority in your application...daily driver/weekend racer. They already make the tires in your size, they just have to start importing them. Hopefully we'll all get a chance to try them if the GB works out.

I'm looking hard at the MX's in a larger size for my STi, how do you rate the MX's as an everyday tire? How competitive on the weekends?

You need more autocross competitive sizes. If you're tayloring these to subarus in the Street Touring classes, you need to expand your list.

STS
225/45-16
225/50-16
225/40-17
225/45-17

STX/STU
245/40-16
245/45-16
245/35-17
235/40-17
245/40-17
235/45-17
245/45-17

The size under STS in bold is a tire size that non of the top players offer. No one offers a 225/40-17 which I think would be a top subaru tire for STS. I'm amazed no one offers one yet, this would be a chance for you to get in there. I know I'd try them on our STS car if someone offered a competitive tire in that size. I also would have a few sets of tires to compare them against. Have Falken Azenis 215's & 615's, Hankook RS Z212's, and Bridgestone Potenza SO3's. Could give you a decent comparision.

I also have a good friend with an STX car that would likely compare them against the Yoko's if you wanted an experienced driver's perspective. I also know a top STU driver personally (2005 champ) I'm sure he'd be up for trying them out as well on his car.

I'm willing to give a new tire a try, but I'd hope you'd consider offering some of the slim pickin' sizes. My first Choices would be 225/40-17, 225/45-16. Only one of the top tires comes in the 16" size I've listed.

Jon
