Seriously, you need to do your research before you criticize someone with facts pulled out of your ***. The Mexican N & S distinction may have originated in Mexico, but since these people are now in America, they seem to have carried over the tradition and instituted the segrational attitude in California.

Also, I qualify students as poor people as well. So if you rode the Big Blue Bus while you were in Westwood, then you would have a totally different picture than if you hopped on the RTD #20 at Wilshire and Westwood and rode it into downtown. And the people that ride the Metro into L.A. from the surrounding suburbs are "poor" by L.A. standards, which is why they live so far away to begin with.

And, being an alumnus of UCLA, you should know better than me how many PAC 10 championships UCLA won in the 90's.

 

Listen to your own advice; the distinction STILL refers to where their family was from in Mexico. I'm very sure of this.

Yeah, I know how great UCLA is. It has a lot to do with the students, and not so much the location.

Please send me the link, I'll give it to my friends who grew up in the surenos (as in sur, or south...yes, I can point out your spelling mistakes too...) and see what they think...seeing as they are surenos because their parents are from oaxaca.

Your PS doesn't make sense...there are nobel laureates on faculty at UCLA, I'm sure they think it's great...for its academics, not its location.
