Ok... So... fb didn't work. Going to try imgbox. Switch the last couple posts... Moving on.

Found myself in some scope creep. Had a bunch of gauges, none of them worked. Came to the realization that I don't really need a boost and water temp gauge if I have my AP on the dash. Really just need Oil temp and Oil pressure since AP/car doesn't see those. Also, poking around, found that it might be easy to put in a pump on my crossover line to help with fuel starve. But I would need to run power to the back seat for it. I want to run a subwoofer at some point, so I would need to run power to the back of the car eventually. If I'm going to run sub power and tear apart the dash for the gauges, I might as well run all the speaker wire too...

STEP ONE: Tear apart the dash.

Wire the pump

Hose the pump

Assemble new gauge sensors. This time with some heat sleeveing.

Wires to the back seat.

Wires to the trunk.

Crammed pump and **** into the holes and put the lids back on. It's like nothing is there.

New Gauges installed and hooked up.

Put the dash back together.

Much cleaner than before.

(I'll be honest, the pillar pod was a little annoying.)

With new vented hood, fixed gauges, and fuel crossover pump, it was time to go to the track again.

Vented hood looks pretty good on the car.

Improved on my PB. But not by a whole lot.

Even with 285 tires, the RSR compound just isn't there. I was not able to go as quickly through the corners as I would have liked.

Vented hood didn't seem to help much either. First session out, I hit 232 water, 144 IAT, and 260 oil before the ****ing gauges melted again! Also, oddly enough, got hit with a P0244, Boost Limit Exceeded, CEL which was weird. AP showed 22.58 PSI. That was first session and that was trying to wind it out to 7000rpm. The rest of the day I was short shifting at 5500 and the temps seemed to tolerate that.

Here's the PB video:

I also had a pretty big off. Got video and pictures.

Some other general pics.

I've been lacking on updating this. imgbox sucks. Trying Google. We'll see how this goes...

Pulled out the broken washer reservoir and lame plastic fender clips.

Put in not broken reservoir and quick release fender clips.

I think I did alright drilling the bumper and getting that together.

Also cut open the heat sleeves that the oil sensor wiring was in.

That stuff properly cooked. There's clearly a lot of heat under the engine. Need to come up with a plan for that.

Also tried on another set of wheels. These are Apex EC-7R 17x9.5+40 with 275 Maxxis RC-1 tires.

They don't look half bad...

Other random project...

Get a little piece of metal and bend the **** out of it.

Paint it wrinkle black to make it look less ****ty.

Stick a magnet on it.

Bolt it in.

Put the trim back on.

BOOM.

Needs a little refinement. But I am overall very pleased.

Trying to come up with a plan to try to mitigate my heat issues. I decided that I want to wrap the exhaust with Heatshield Armor. First step is getting under the engine and measuring out the exhaust so I know how much of the stuff to get.

My problems are worse that I thought...

Melted oil sensor wires... (Knew about this)

Found scorched O2 sensor connector. This probably isn't good...

Found melted motor mount. That's definitely not good.

Bottom of the timing belt cover is also discolored. If this is allowing the timing belt to get damaged, that's really not good.

And finally, the header is cracked.

On both sides...

Wonderful...

*slaps knees* Alright then...

New header.

New up pipe.

**** it, new intake.

Got the heatshield armor and wrapped up the exhaust.

Put the bits together because it looked cool.

Also got new oil ****. Going to try Heatshield Products Hot Rod sleeve this time.

To go with that intake, I also got the rest of the Cobb FMIC.

I underestimated how yuge the core is. Makes my old core look dinky.

Got it in... Didn't quite mesh with the oil cooler I had. And my bosozoku plan wan't working.

Quick switch to a different oil cooler core and it fits like a glove.

Is kinda tight.

But it's all there.

And under the cover.

Finally got the cracked header off.

Got the melted mounts swapped.

New header (and other bits) are installed.

Got to the dyno. Made some good power.

Further details intentionally omitted.

Got the car home. Go to fire it up. Dead. Dash lights up. But nothing happens. Fuel pump doesn't even prime. I have a video... But it's lame.

Towed to shop. Car sat there for like 2 months before they threw in the towel. Determined there's a problem with the ECU. Towed to local dealership.

They found that the ECU is burnt.

Swapped a new one in. Insta-burned. They determined that the bulkhead harness needed to be replaced...

Replacing the harness didn't fix the issue...

I haven't driven the car since June last year. Kinda why updates have been stale.

Fixed the pictures with imgbb, we'll see how this goes. As far as I can tell, the imgbox stuff works. But their cdn is slow af and sometimes the browser times them out.
