My built wagon thread
I know im late in making this but I need a place to keep track of everything. Really this car was just suppose to be a daily driver that turned into a little more, like pretty much anything I touch . Ive had the car for about a year and a half now, so I will give you guys the short version of how it got to where it is today.
I bought the car back in May 2012. Overall the guy took pretty good care of it and had a couple of useful mods done to it (Rotora bbk, coilovers, sedan fenders). I was looking for a daily driver to commute in and most likley pick up another car for a side project for fun. After driving it to work for a few weeks I realized just how slow the 2.0 was and I wanted to change that. I also felt a little deprived after recently selling my track prepped camaro. My family owns a shop down south and I grew up driving and working on muscle cars, and the power just wasn't there for me in the wrx.
I picked up an 18gxt with supporting mods to give the engine some kick. High mileage and the 18g wasnt a good combo and the engine grenaded shortly after when driving home one night. Did a leak down & compression test that showed the engine not sealing.... And thats when I saw the opportunity ... I talked with Ed at Eqtuning and we decided to build a hybrid engine for the car.
I went with a ATP gtx3071 turbo on the new build with meth. Ive always liked meth since running it on my supercharged cars and with the weak gas cali gets it made sense to me. The car is now making 435/455 at the wheels on 91oct w/meth. I have about 10k on the build and the cars doing great. Much more fun to drive the the stocker. Pretty good torque hit for such a small engine.
Since I upgraded the engine i also upgraded to a 6 speed to hold the power. Lately i've been working on making the car handle better by upgrading suspension and dropping lbs off the car where I can.
Heres the mod list how the car currently sits. You dont realize its that much until you try to write it all down....

New wheels should show up today. Time for some meat.
-CCW SP16R's 18x10 +22
-Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's 285/30/18 Tires
Will have to wait for the karlton wagon flares to get finished off and I still need to install some suspension parts before mounting them, but getting closer...

New lugs showed up yesterday. Should work nicely with the wheels.
Cars headed to EQ on monday for a new dyno pull to see if we picked up anything with the bigger exhaust, new dp, and cf driveshaft.

Thanks guys, I need to leave the car there, but I'll be sure to grab a print out of the graph afterwards. Also those fogs are JDM foglights. I bought the larger housings for them and the lights from Japanparts.com. They work great. It was a good investment considering i live in Pacifica and drive through the fog a good bit.
