My Blue Bucket
Well I have been working on my project 02 WRX for about 3 years now, The car used to fairly clean with our prototype GT30 turbo kit on a stock WRX engine. I since then had a slight overboost issue due to a 3rd party mechanic and some crappy work (34psi on pump gas). This resulted in the rings being blow and some very leaky valves.
The three pictures on this post are how it was.

Between it looking like the above and the demise of the motor the car was being raced by Andrew (from GB Motorsports) in the Street Mod class of AutoX so under his careful eye (boy do I wish it was him that worked on the new uppipe, instead of the fabricator I let loose on it, oh well live and learn I guess) we started to strip as much weight from the car as possible. Short end of that is the car is noiser, has less metal and different seats.
I don't have any pictures of it during this stage but the outside looked the same and basically the Momo steering wheel and Sparco seats were replaced with OMP and Cobra respectively. The remaining mods for weight cannot be seen.

Ok so now you might ask "ok so the motor is toast so what is going into it then"
Well that was a problem, do we rebuild the stock motor for another round of abuse or put something a little more exotic in there. Here is what we found on the back of a Bax Global truck (ordered in December delivered twice, finally on a stand in August)

Yeah Mike, whatever happened with that. I know you told me at the shop that your motor showed up damaged from shipping and you were waiting for the replacement. Is that the one in the photo I guess? I want to know more about that motor (specs: ie displacement, red line, etc.) and what turbo you plan on using too please. You and Tommah still have my favorite subys, well Freddie too but he parted his out.

Yea the engine finally showed up and by the looks of it unscathed.
Specs on the engine are as follows,
2.2L block
New Age USDM STI crank (not quite stock though)
Oliver rods
CP pistons
USDM heads (ported polished)
Axis racing stage 2 valvetrain and oversized valves
JUN 272 cams with slightly different spec's than the off the shelf versions
Technically the displacement is 2.33L with a compression of 9:1 and a capable redline of around 9k.
Turbowise I'm not sure at this stage, I think when the old GT30r gets back from it's inspection at Garrett I'll use that and see how it goes. I'm not looking for a drag setup just trying to make a broad usuable powerband, we'll see I guess.

Well we have the 6sp in there that has been there for a couple of years now, still need to sort the rear diff out but I think we have that covered on the next container.
Should be looking to fire her up later on this week.
