Should be picking up the car from the body shop next week (I hope). Seems like a lot of Subaru's have bad luck being rear ended or smashed into by careless drivers including my car.

Talk about luck man I've had 2 hit and runs. One bashed my driver side door within a couple months of getting my RS.The other bashed my front bumper cracking it and crunching my headlight and corner lamp while I was at school in Oakland. Within a year of fixing those and kissing the funds for numerous mods goodbye, I got sideswiped by this stupid skirt(thirty plus and still wearing braces) in a Rav 4. She pulled into my lane right as I was passing at around 35. All this while I was on my way to pay off a $300 ticket!!! Bay Area drivers are the worst. And I've driven in Athens which is the most dangerous place to drive in Europe!!!

Just got the car back on Friday 2/4. TGIF body shop did a really great job throwing my car back together. Only complaint I have is that there is some overspray on my hood so it is rough / uneven paint. They have a lifetime warranty so I'll have them re-paint my hood. Tomorrow I'm going to get it all cleaned up and waxed. Pics soon.

Got the car cleaned up today but I decided not to wax becuase I wasn't sure how long the car had been sitting at the shop after getting painted. Better that I wait a bit just to be safe. Really pleased with the bodywork, came out clean. I'm just glad to be driving again lol.

...oh yea, and I'm glad they left my trunk debadged except for the 2.5RS emblem, now there's no sign of any "ghost" S U B A R U letters + brand new JDM tails woot!!

On Saturday after the Bozz grand opening meet I happened to notice that my left fog light bulb had burned out. I could have gone with OEM bulbs again since they aren't too bad but decided to use PIAA Xtreme white bulbs (H3) They seem to be comparable with the stock bulbs except they are white in color rather than the slightly yellowish color that OEM's have.

Exclamation Now for a real update:

Since my car was in the body shop the whole month of January it finally gave me a chance to compile a bunch of parts that I'll need for my WRX conversion. So far I've hoarded the following:

WRX complete wiring harness
WRX ECU (02)
WRX boost control solenoid
WRX fuel pump
WRX fuel pump controller
WRX power steering resivoir w/ lines
WRX intake
WRX MAF sensor
WRX front swaybar
WRX turboback (stock)
WRX headers (stock)
Spec Stage 1 clutch kit
Helix flex uppipe
OEM exhaust gaskets
Turbo Legacy crossmember
Rallitek SS clutch line
GC8 WRX badge

Basically I have most of what I need except a complete EJ20.

Since I didn't have much to do over the weekend and wanted to work on the car, I installed the WRX fuel pump. The install wasn't that difficult but it seemed like it was harder to get the assembly to fit back in to the fuel tank because the piece on the end of the WRX pump is a bit larger than my RS one. But the car still seems to be running just fine with the WRX pump so at least thats one less thing to install when it goes in for the swap.

Couple of new things that have nothing to do with my engine swap. On the weekend I put together a video camera mount for my car. It's basically made out of a piece of wood wrapped in duct tape with some metal brackets, ghetto.... yes I know but free none the less And then just today stuck my Fumoto valve on the pan when I changed my oil. I will never miss unscrewing the drain plug only to have hot oil come gushing out all over the place

Ran into a slight problem. I was going to be picking up a 02 WRX motor yesterday from a guy doing a V7 swap but his stock motor was low on compression in cylinder #2 from the test results. It is going to be fixed then afterwards I'll be picking it up. I'll be leaving this week and spending 2 weeks in Spain. Once I return the motor should be ready for me to pick up.

How far does the fumoto valve stick out? I am just worried with the oil pan so low and the drain plug where it is that a valve like that could catch something and break off. Not too likely, but you never know when you could hit a rock on a dirt road. That's the only thing stopping me from getting one and an oil filter relocation kit to make oil changing super easy.

On topic though, hope your swap goes well. It will be even sweeter when done, but it is a really really nice RS anyway. I really do like your car, and good to see it fixed back up.

The Fumoto valve only sticks out an inch or so from the oil pan. Even though my carīs lowered I donīt think it will hit anything on the ground when Iīm driving along. Then again I havenīt really taken my car offroad, Iīd like to but just havenīt found a good spot to do it yet.

I got back to the US just a couple days ago. Word has it that my EJ20 is on a engine stand at LIC motorsports awaiting repairs so it will have the proper compression again. Aside from that here's a pic of a horn I put on the car a few weeks ago. It's from a Ford Bronco and only cost me $7 The tone is slightly deeper than my stock horn but I don't really think its any louder, I just couldn't stand the whimpy sound the other one had.

The fuel pump controller (so I've been told) allows the fuel pump to run at 2 different voltages, one while stopped idling and one while the car is moving. You'll def need this otherwise the car won't run right. Still not sure if the fuel harness is separate from the rest of the harness though.. hmm.... Also, K6DimE what front swaybar / brackets / bushings are you using with the WRX crossmember?
