Now if I went to the STI 19mm sway then I'd consider changing the front, but even without TC on and pushing the car in the twisties it's hard to get the rear to slide out unless you really jerk the steering wheel into the corner. The Primacy tires aren't too shabby in keeping the car planted during spirited driving.
Hopefully next month I can have more parts on the way

Yeah we had a local customer install the 19mm rear from his STi, and he did say it was a bit too much, but would be perfect with a front sway to balance it out. Good to hear that the 16mm produces some nice oversteer, as that is exactly how I would want the car set up as well. Appreciate the info.
Thanks,
Rick

If I'd have to pay for 2 pulls then no lol.. Plus theres enough stock dyno pulls from these cars, and Ed said they had one that made 150hp in stock form. I haven't seen any dyno info on K&N's filter and what gains it has. We'll see if I even make it there and am able to get it on the dyno.

Yeah, I've been curious to know what sways buyers to pick the version they do.
Personally I might go with the BRZ just because I have a WRX now, but as soon as nostalgia for my 93 MR2 and my old Celica kick in, I'd be leaning towards the FR-S.

When these cars were announced way back when I first wanted the Toyota version since it has the heritage behind it unlike the BRZ. I've owned a few AE86s so it only made sense to go with Toyota.. Though I do love Subarus and I had my WRX and my Fiancé ended up buying a bugeye WRX after I got rid of mine. So I ordered a WRB BRZ to match my fiancé's WRB WRX.
After getting jerked around buy the Subaru dealer in Sac and not wanted to get bent over from the mark up thy put on it, I decided to just go for the Toyota. I was only 4th on the waiting list for my BRZ, and if I was still waiting I still wouldn't have gotten it yet, I had the opportunity to get the frs, I took it. Saved about 6k doing it, and I actually like the interior more that the base BRZ. A friend I work with ended up buying a Premium BRZ shortly after me buying my FRS, and after driving his and riding in it, I prefer the toyota more. The suspension on the Toyota is firmer compared to Subarus, the strut bound/remound that is.
On a side note though, if the STI model comes out and it's worth trading in, I will highly consider it.. But we'll see what they do to the STI model first vs. how much I mod my 86 to see if it's worth changing.

That sucks about the dealer hassle, but I totally see your point about the AE86 though.
Congrats on getting a good deal on a hard to find car! A dark grey/charcoal FR-S passed me going the other way on the freeway last night in Nevada City. I scared my wife half to death when I yelled and pointed it out to her.
She wasn't as excited as I was apparently.

Personally I think the only VALUABLE upgrade for a FRS/BRZ/STi would be a complete hub and brake conversion that would change it to 5x114.3.
I saw your car at Sonoma Drift a while back. I don't know if you were there 2 weeks ago, but a friend of mine got to pilot the CorteX Racing/Out Performance FRS. The car was brought up from Texas. I think the FRS has potential to be a good drift/time trial car with some time spent in suspension setup and possibly a new powerplant. The overall chassis I think is well put together.
Congrats on your purchase. I look forward to seeing this car built.
