Car Info: '02 Impreza RS
New to the site
Hey everyone. I just bought a 2002 Impreza 2.5RS as a second car.
My first car was an 1994 Infiniti G20t, which was totaled in an accident not too long ago. I was a frequenter of G20.net and am familiar with car forums.
I'm a big Nissan guy, but it just wasn't in the books for a second car. I couldn't find one I wanted for the right price. I started looking at Subaru's for the AWD, since that is a nice feature to have in upstate New York (where I go to school).
I don't have any money left after the new purchase, so I won't be doing much to the car to start.
My one question is how much the auto tranny's can take in terms of power and mods. I know in my G20, the auto's couldn't handle more than a few upgrades, and if you wanted to turbo you needed to get a 5spd swap done.
Sadly, no one is selling manuals around me, and those that are were out of my price range

HAHAHAHA I am driving a 98 Nissian Altima right now as my beater/daily we are teh opposite of each other. I got the Altima a few months ago while I am having work done to the subaru. (different situation than yours )
The AT can handle quite a bit. They can handle more than the 5 speed MT. You should be good to go.
