I can't ride Sunday :\

Saturday I would like to ride up in Auburn though. I was thinking:

Start at 830

Rain: connector and divide
No Rain: connector, divide backwards to upper, then divide loop and connector back to car

I have to be to roseville by 1. I can be dirty when I get there so I'll just go straight from the ride.

Sound OK?

That sounds ok to me. If it's pouring hard I might want to just do the loop or something.

I did Granite Bay today with Bert. We went to the end and back twice, did the side trail 1.5 times (we got lost trying to go backwards), did more loops and we still only got 15 miles. The trails there just aren't very long. The one advantage we had one doing mulitiple loops is that we got to see a couple of 10's twice.

Nice. I have a pretty decent loop we've been riding for about 17 miles up there.

On Saturday last weekend, Mike and I rode out to the end, came back, took that side trail where you get to the granite and rode it to the big hill. Then we turned around and rode it backwards, which was cool. Then we rode out to the end, cut across and climbed up the steep back side to the trail that goes around Doton's point (which is where I smooshed my noggin) and finished out the ride.

Because the school is open, we started from Twin Rocks. That makes it harder to get miles.

It looks like we are going to get lots of rain Saturday.

It's supposed to be dumping tomorrow. Is it worth going?

I just called Randy about that. We're gonna call off the ride - riding in a down pour doesn't sound fun.

Sunday the rain is suppose to get lighter as the day progresses. Maybe we can get in a ride Sunday. It sounds like the later the better. Can you guys ride Sunday?

Well it's 8:30 our start time. It is raining really hard here. If it's raining hard here, then it's raining hard in Auburn. I'm very glad we aren't riding in this.

Randy, we're planning on leaving from Sacramento at 10.30 tomorrow. Leaving one car at the confluence and taking the other car to the top of connector or the top of FHDL. If the weather is bad tomorrow we'll cancel. Light rain and we're still riding.

If there is time we'll be doing a second shuttle on the Cool side (trail ends up on the Quarry Ridge).

Nelson, it sounds like you guys are mostly doing down hill stuff if you are leaving one at the Confluence and one at Connector. I have gotten damaged to many times doing the Confluence downhill to ever want to do that again. Are you guys doing much XC on this ride?

The other day I said it takes a lot of rain for Olmstead to get muddy. I don't know how much we got, but there was an empty pot sitting on our deck before the rain. It's now over flowing. I think we got over 5 inches. It might be muddy today!

I'm actually not sure of the exact route. There are four people going and we're going to figure out what we're doing on the way up. You're more than welcome to meet up with us at confluence, and you can just take an alternate route down after the end of the connector.

I'm wondering how muddy it will be...

I wimped out today and didn't ride in the rain. I did put my wet weather rear tire on this afternoon.

It is suppose to be sunny Tuesday, so I think I will go check out Olmstead and see how muddy it is.

I didn't ride today either. I did go riding for about 40 minutes last night in the rain. That was pretty fun. It was super quiet along the river and the rain sounded fantastic. I really enjoyed that ride.

Today I got the lawns mowed, cleaned the house with the wife, played some games, etc. Pretty nice.
