Starlite and other rallye information

Okay, I promised some folks that I'd post up a bunch of information. Here is some stuff to get you started. Others are welcome to add more info and links.

******************

There have been many rumours that Starlite will be happening again. The most reliable rumours say it will be in November or December 2007. See the ITN schedule below. For history on this incredible event check the following links:

The group that organized it for 30 years! http://www.sbscc.org/

Starlite Stories: http://www.therallyeclub.org/starscrap.htm
also go to the ITN website: www.ITNRally.org click on "Stories" and enjoy "JEFF AND JOE'S STARLITE '99 ADVENTURE" or "STARLITE IN FASTEST CAR MADE IN AMERICA"

The website to watch will be ITN's. They have a preliminary schedule posted for next year. http://carzero.freeservers.com/ or www.ITNRally.org

The best place to get up to the minute information on ITN rallies is NASIOC - SCIC. Just look for a thread by "Rapid Roo" with ITN in the title. Here is an example of what you just missed - and if you're in luck you can still download the RI's and maps! http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1077869

Okay, so what about stuff happening up in this area?

Check out the Porsche club, Zone 7 Rallye series. They have fun, challenging rallies and they are a very friendly, welcoming group of car enthusiasts. I'm sure OldGuySTI from this board will chime in at some point. Here are a couple of links, though they don't seem to have their 2007 schedules up yet. http://www.pca.org/zone7/index.php?page=rallye or http://www.derporsche.net/

You can also check The Rallye Club (TRC) http://www.therallyeclub.org/ Click on their Calendar page, scroll down to the very bottom and click on "More West Coast Events" or just click this link: http://www.therallyeclub.org/westcoast.pdf The information on that page should keep you going for a long time!

For those of you who want to find out more about timing devices, go to the ITN website www.ITNRally.org and scroll down to and click on "Guide to Rally Computers and Timing Equipment".

And if you want to spend a whole week doing a rallye, check out the Alcan 5000: http://www.alcan5000.com/

Or if you want to go really fast, try Open Road Rallying, where you can't go slower than 80 mph!
http://www.openroadracing.com/
http://www.silverstateclassic.com/
http://www.bborr.com/
http://www.sorcrace.com/

How about another extreme - the 24 Hours of LeMons?! http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/

It is also a great idea to volunteer at rallies. That way you get to see the action up close! If you're free Saturday December 2nd you might consider volunteering for the Reno Rally: https://www.i-club.com/forums/bay-area-15/reno-rally-needs-volunteers-149272/

Another great rallye to volunteer at is Rim of the World in Palmdale So Cal: http://www.rimoftheworldrally.com/

Then there's the SCCA RallyX series: http://www.sfrscca.org/RallyX/
or the California Rally Series (CRS) Rallye School: http://www.californiarallyseries.com/home/index.aspx

Well I think that should keep you all busy for a while!

Jane
