NON STICKY >>>Krispy Kreme Rallye this Sunday!!!

The Krispy Kreme Doughnut Rally (a rally even cops would enjoy!)

Inspired by BAIC ?Krispy Kreme meets?, but open to all cars and interested people (feel free to cross post this to other boards)

The objective is to make a purchase at each of the Krispy Kreme Doughnut shops in the Bay area, in a given sequence within a specified time window, which should all be accessible at legal speeds.

How it works;

You show up at the start in the car of your choice, with a navigator who likes doughnuts and doesn?t mind going out for drives (to help you eat all the doughnuts and tell you where to turn.)

You will be assigned a ?car number? and issued a set of instructions which show the driving directions and ?Car #0? times to get to each of the Krispy Kreme shops, which will serve as checkpoints.

You may approach the checkpoint either through the drive through window or inside, you only need to get a receipt with the time stamp from each of the shops.

The ?car zero? times will have a 5 minute window between arriving and departing each ?checkpoint?, by adding your car number in minutes to the car zero time, you can determine your appropriate time window at each checkpoint.

Zero ?doughnut points? will be issued for receipts stamped within the time window for each checkpoint, one ?doughnut point? per minute outside of that window will be the penalty for early or late arrivals, with a maximum per checkpoint of 5 points.

Just in case a few teams wind up with zero or in a tie for the lowest ?doughnut points?, you will also need to get a receipt crossing one of our bay area bridges, which will serve as the tie-breaking checkpoint, (scored separately from the doughnut checkpoints at one point per second.)

The winning team, the car with the lowest accumulated ?doughnut points? at the last checkpoint will win???(what else?) a dozen doughnuts!

So you can drive like a madman and get there early and wait around for your time to go inside a buy a doughnut, that is expected from this bunch, but keep in mind, a ticket or accident costs you a lot more than a dozen doughnuts, not all of the cash registers will have been synchronized, lines at drive-thrus and cash register operator timing might potentially impact your scores, and all you win in the end is more doughnuts anyway?..

The first event will be really easy with fully detailed instructions to every KK, so no one will get lost or need to resort to ridiculous driving- if anybody comes out and enjoys it, it will get trickier in future incarnations.

I will open ?registration? at 3:30PM this Sunday the 5th at the Daly City Krispy Kreme 1575 Sullivan Avenue, Daly City.

Finish will be at the Pittsburg Krispy Kreme, in time that scoring can be completed and anyone who wants to can go over to Fairfield for the Solano County Meet that evening.

Think of it as a mobile meet.....

I know this was pretty short notice, but if you are free this afternoon you might want to join us, I think it will be fun!

I figured as much- it was fun, but it'd be a lot better with more participants (bring a navigator to help eat doughnuts- doing it solo gets pretty filling- and BEWARE OF THE FREE SAMPLES!!!)

when would be a good time to do it again?

looks like most KK's are open until midnight........

I might be up for this. It sounds interesting.

I don't know when I get my car back and I don't want to attempt a rally in my old mustang. If for no other reason than I could never afford the gas!
