my accessport is finally coming, I should be getting it by tuesday, YAY! any hoo... im going to be needing some tuning here in the next week or so, some of you guys reccommended Gruppe-S, so tommorow i was going to call and try and set up a date to go tune.

Hey guys i think im getting a bit of a burning smell when on the free way, its just seems to be when i put my foot down getting on to it ? ? ?Why would this be happening ? ? ?

 

i think we need to get a suby specialists out on wednsday, heh. i have some things i need to figure out also. after putting on my downpipe its been sounding like i have a Diesel turbo (the sound of it spooling). i dont think it is an exhaust leak though. i think i need someone to go on a ridealong, im just not sure.

 

what time and where do you guys meet? I am getting off work at 8pm this wednesday and wouldnt mind driving to SC. Or, if you are down to come to this side of the hill for BDG on Thursday I can take a listen/smell at your cars.

What downpipe did you get? Does it have a divorced wasted gate, or a bel mouth design?


Tom - what does it smell like? Plastic? Fuel? Is your air vent set to recycle or pull outside air in?

i got the Perrin catless, divorced i believe.(seperate, smaller pipe for wastegate that meets about 2 inches down the main pipe).

if you wernt able to make it, san jose isnt too far away i woudnt mind coming out to meet some new people and what not.

yeah, the divorced waste gate is a bit noisy, I personally don't mind it. I have a stromung turbo back with a divorced waste gate and love the sound.

 

tom- i smell the same thing every once in a while, kinda like a waxy/plasticky smell? happened with my buddy's audi 1.8t as well....

ok i just didnt expect it to souind like a chipped diesel befor it even hits 0 psi. i think i might just need to adjust the flutter maybe thats what sounds funky about it.

 

Bo - yeah its weird it only happens sometimes though. Strange as ****. SO you gonna bring the suspension on wednesday ? ? What exactly is it, i mean parts wise ? Springs etc ?
