Yea, having it planned a few weeks out is best. The last one happened pretty quick, i felt like I hadn't checked the thread in a few days and missed out.

We lost one of the OG's of this meet today.

tom_walshaw lost his battle with leukemia this morning.

Tom was fresh off the boat from the UK when he bought a 2002 MBP WRX and entered our lives. None of us would know that our small (I think our record was 8 people?) weekly gathering at a new hidden Aptos Starbucks in 2006 would lead to a marriage between Tom and a barista named Laura.

I asked Tom to be one of my groomsman about 3 years ago and had our entire future wedding party over to our house for a get together. Tom was his usual gregarious friendly self but seemed tired and a bit pale....the next day he went to the doctor and was diagnosed.

He fought hard and valiantly against the insidious cancer, going in and out of remission several times but was never able to crush it completely.

It may have been quite awhile since some of you have seen him, but pour one out for the lad from Yorkshire.

RIP Big Tom.

Hah! Completely forgot about 99Bottles...we'd meet up there a lot....my (now) wife had just gotten a new Mini Cooper S the last time we met up there. Tom and I both got HAMMERED and we gave Tom a ride back to Scotts Valley where he lived....

.....he was literally a bear in a clown car. He had to tilt his head sideways to even fit in the front seat!!

**** I need another beer
