It's not about that. It's about the meets, the caravan, hanging out and chilling, the drive, the raffle. Etc.

But there are lots of folks that don't get it so it's all good. No disrespect taken. But you'll be missing out. But I'm biased. I think autoX is lame as ****. I'd rather use the money I put in to autoX for a season and do one or 2 track days. I never got in to it.

But to each their own. I don't go to meets very often but I go to Hammy as often as possible.

I have some friends that are insane about autoX. Just not my thing.

Think about it this way... you have a blast and are way in the Uvas runs... this is like that times 40. And the drive is 10x's better if you spend a little extra time and at least do the drive up to the observatory. I actually like to make a full day of it. Head all the way over in the Livermore and then loop home on the freeways. WAY long day but it's friggin awesome. More driving and more fun than autox. But like I said... I'm bias. And hammy/mines is one of the best drives we have to offer in the bay area.

It's no worse than any other canyon road you're gonna take. But if you're car is more flush than function you'll have to ignore the rubbing to have a good time. Even at around the speed limit it's a very taxing road. Hell it's actually hard to do the speed limit in many sections.

There are some corners that will be an issue for the SUPER hella flush way slammed folks with zero travel left in their coil overs and no where for tires to go... and front lips and what not. But those folks wouldn't enjoy the road anyways. If you're fine smashing around parking lots... you'll be fine out on hammy. And Mines is a lot longer. Not so tight. Way faster. WAY faster. LOL.

This years caravans and drives will be way better than last years because there is only really one way up. The hammy caravans are the largest caravans I've ever seen. I was in one around 150 cars or so.

But it is what you make of it. Making the drive up or up and over isn't part of it but it's a damn good time if people choose to do it.

Yes it's gnarly... but only if you're driving retarded or your car is retarded. Neither of which you or your car are if I remember correctly...

Oh.. that road you followed me on through the fields in watsonville... way dirtier and way bumpier than hammy.

That's normal but I never let that get to me.

Back when I did have money I had a dude at a meet come up to me and ask me about the parts on my car. Couple months later his wagon looked EXACTLY like mine. So I changed it ALL. LOL.

There's always gonna be ballers out there and there's always gonna be people with more disposable income because they live with their parents and pay no bills.... key is to enjoy what you have.

I could care less what other folks have. I have had some friends over the years with retarded cars. LOL. Lambo. SL55 AMG that was FAAAAR from stock. Wide body M3. Skylines. Crazy track cars. Dope street cars.

I do what I want to my cars and only what I want. Most people would think I'm crazy for how little I've done to my engine but how many of them have 210k on their motors...

I go to talk **** with friends. Meet new people. Etc. I rarely even look at the cars much anymore. I'll do a walk through but I never just go... oh man that cars got blah blah... I want that. LOL. I'd say I got over that about the time I lost my job and had a baby at the same time. LOL!
