Got a little apt with the girlfriend in belmont/san mateo...right off 280/92
Tired of commuting, and having to always drive back home super late at night after doin somethin up in the bay area...plus gonna go to a cc where I can get my auto stuff done

Id call gst, lic, fw and ask if thats what happens when the oil pick up goes. Sounds about right though. If it locked up midstroke it makes sense it could jump timing but im not 100% on that.

I know right...
To be honest, Ed has never done me wrong. I was just around in the early days and disagreed with the way he did things. I've had beers with the dude and always found him to be a good guy. I watched him sit down with a beer at a bar and bust out a safe tune for free to help a guy get home. I won't get to deep in to any of the other stuff but it's just a preference and a trust level. If people are in the area of his shop I'd probably send them over there.
I just know if you pick up the phone and call Paul he'll probably tell you straight up if it is or it isn't. He would be my first call to tell you the truth and I go way back with Mike... so I'd probably call Mike's cell and if he didn't answer then I'd call Paul. And I recommended LIC because quite honestly... no one does maintenance more professionally than they do and I know for a fact they've dealt with this failure.
I also didn't mention Speed Element... who I'm cool with or AHQ who has helped me out in the past BIG time. Hooked me up with a hub for $40.
So it was really just preference and who I thought would give you the best answer.
On the topic of Ed... he did me a solid recently which I give much respect for because I've given him a ration of **** on the forums. Takes a big man to do that and I respect and appreciate it. Kept me from stepping in to a very expensive steaming pile of ****.
