HOLY SPEED TRAP!
The big guy was looking out for me this morning. I leave my house and I'm doing about 68 or so in a 55 on 129. Just cruising. Come around a corner just as CHP is pulling out on the road. End up following that dude for a while on 101. Just taking it easy. Then I have this feeling I know where he went because I lost eyes on him... So I slow from 70 to about 62... boom. There he is.
So I'm chilling doing like 62-65 in a 55 construction zone. Going the speed of traffic. Usually I'm going much quicker. Then BOOM CHP bikes EVERYWHERE.
One dude standing there pointing and 4 bikes pulling people over.
I got so damn lucky. It's a 55 double fine zone right now. Me and the truck behind me where blocked by a field truck. The next car wasn't. I looked in my mirror just in time to see the dude with the gun point at that car 2 cars behind me... they got tagged.
Had 3 CHP bikes writing tickets and one getting ready to write a ticket.
Then there was a fat accident on 101 so I had jump off and go the round about way to work.
Odd morning.
Oh.... my front end links are here... WOOT! Now I need to get some rears. I think I may have snapped something. My rear end got real loose on the way home from work last night. Gotta take a look today.

If you think that's amazing you need to get out and drive more.
Buddy of mine and I smashed our cars literally for a full day. That was an epic drive. Probably 300 miles of curves. Another great drive is to head out to tracy via hammy/mines, etc.
17 is by no means a great drive. I hate that road.

Well excuse me LOL
I thought it was fun, very little traffic on 17 and had a couple subies mobbin with me. Went to Great America was the reason for the route.
I actually like to smash 101 south to aroyo seco rd then hit Carmel valley rd to laureless grade to 68. Such a sick drive!

If you're gonna be in the area you should roll out. Gilroy seems far but it's really not. Especially if you're planning on a run like this anyways. You could loop down 101. Meet up. Drive over then take highway 1 back through Salinas.

How is Gilroy any different that anywhere else to meet? The drive is still the same if you meet there or you meet in monterey.
