I will probably go to this event regardless. If some else puts together the details for a Drag Racing meet I will attend that as well. In terms of Road Racing, I only drive at Thunder Hill because it has no walls. If you wipe a turn at Infineon or Laguna, you can potentially total your car. I prefer Road Racing but it is too risky considering my Subaru is my only car and my daily driver. Auto-X is done in an open area, in this case, the wide open parking lot at The Coliseum. I've wiped plenty of corners and spun out without incident. The whole SCCA group is very welcoming to new drivers and there is always someone willing to show you the ropes and provide tips. Our cars are intended to drive the twisties and, personally, I find Auto-X much more exhilarating than Drag Racing. But that is just my opinion. Hope we get enough interest to set this one in stone. Keep the rubber side down guys and have an awesome weekend! -Rich

Thanks for the info Rich. Ill see if the wife wants to give me this as my bday gift/anniversary. I will let u know forbsure. Have been wanting to do auto-x for a while. Just don't know where to start.
I agree about thunder hill track. Been there and ur right, its less of a danger to total ur car there case most of that particular track is open field. Ive never been on the actual course of laguna seca. But been partially at infineon.
